Welcome to our home page for the 2012 Dewsbury & Heavy Woollen Beer & Cider Festival. The festival is being organised by the Heavy Woollen District branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, in partnership with many local organisations.

The beers on offer will include a selection of the best real ales from Yorkshire. There will also be a nautical bar, spotters bar, cider bar and world beers bar. Details of these will be available on the Real Ales page as they become available.

Can you help?

Can you spare some of your time to help us? There’s lots to do and helping is fun – that’s why many of our volunteers come back year after year. Jobs include:

  • Installation and Breakdown
  • Bar staff for Ales, Cider and Bottle Bars
  • Front Desk (Ticket & Glass sales we are hoping to have an all female team)
  • Glass collection and Washing
  • Serving of Food
  • General duties assicated with a beer festival

Sponsorship

Perhaps your company could offer sponsorship? This years is expected to be as succesful as previous years and with extensive media coverage sponsoring the festival is a sound investment. There are various levels of sponsorship available from ‘sponsor a barrel’ to sponsoring the glasses. Please check the menu to find out more.

Charity of the Festival

RNLI
We are proud to support the RNLI as this years charity of the festival. The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. They provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK and RoI, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on many of the busiest beaches in England and Wales.

Rob from Pure North and Sam from The Sportsman will be holding tasting sessions during the VIP/Trade session. Unless already invited you can attend these sessions by becoming a major sponsor  or barrel sponsor.

Chocolates with a Difference

Merry Berry TrufflesFollowing their succcess last year Merry Berry Truffles will be at the festival once again selling a range of chocolates with a difference. A range of flavoured chocolates which are handmade with flavours such as lime and chilli, cracked black pepper, cinnamon, ginger. orange and chilli, mixed spice and lots more other flavours to tantalise the taste buds these are all made with real spices and oils and no artificial flavourings.
